Who is PHW?

Partners in Health and Wholeness is an initiative of the North Carolina Council of Churches committed to working at the intersection of faith, health, and justice. We seek to educate, equip, and mobilize faith communities to become places of health and wholeness—in mind, body, and spirit.

Health as a Faith Issue

We Believe: Caring for our health is not separate from our faith—it is an expression of it. All people are loved by God, and God desires abundant life for all—in mind, body, and spirit. When faith communities nurture health and wholeness they help build thriving, strong communities that become powerful agents of healing, hope, and justice in the world.

Our Work is Making a Difference

We really appreciate the work of the North Carolina Council of Churches. We are so elated to be a part of that body and we really thank God for the work of this Partners in Health and Wholeness branch of the NCCC. There is work all over North Carolina to be done, we just made a small dent in our community.

Bishop Dr. George B. Jackson

Citadel of Faith Christian Fellowship

We are overjoyed with the collaborative efforts within the Partners in Health and Wholeness Collaborative. Breaking open the Word, I believe, is most effective and meaningful within community. Something happens when two or more are gathered together in honest, respectful, caring relationships that seek the truth.

Rev. Tamara Franks

High Country UCC

I want to thank the North Carolina Council of Churches and the Partners in Health and Wholeness team for being so kind to me. God has blessed us because of the mini-grants we were granted over these years and we were able to bless the community and show God’s love through this project.
