The Graham County Senior Center offers a wide variety of services to the senior citizens of Graham County who are 60 years of age or older or the spouse of someone who is 60 years old or older. Priority is given to those meeting or exceeding the poverty level.
For the homebound seniors the center offers Meals On Wheels. This program is designed to provider a hot nutritious meal to those who cannot prepare a meal for themselves. This service is free, but donations are accepted.
The Senior Center site offers nutritious meals and activities for seniors who are active and like to fellowship with other seniors. Lunch is served daily at 11:30. There is no charge for lunch, however donations are accepted.
Weekly activities held at the center include:
- Games – Daily
- Dancing – Thursdays at the Nursing
- Home Crafts – Tuesdays
Monthly activities include:
- Health & Nutrition Workshops
- Out of town shopping trips
- Area points of interest and picnics
The center also offers referral services for seniors such as SHIIP (Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program), Medicare Part D assistance, NC division of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and also Rural Development.
