Come to the Table

Categories: Community Gardens, Hunger Relief, Local Food

The Come to the Table project works with people of faith to relieve hunger and sustain local agriculture. The project’s leaders include farmers, farm workers, food pantry directors, community gardeners, ministers, public employees and lay leaders.

Who

Come to the Table is a project of the Rural Life Committee of the North Carolina Council of Churches and The Rural Advancement Foundation International (RAFI-USA). The program is supported by Duke Endowment.

What

The mission of Come To The Table is to relieve hunger and strengthen just and sustainable agriculture in rural North Carolina. We do this by engaging and mobilizing people of faith, farmers and communities.

Where

Rural North Carolina. Come to the Table is physically located in Pittsboro, NC.

When

Since 2007, people throughout North Carolina have gathered together for regional Come to the Table Conferences. The next conference will be in March 2021.

Why

We envision a future in which people working in partnership build strong, self-reliant communities where everyone can eat healthy, just and sustainable food.
