Sacred Conversation Practical Peace: Transforming Health from the Roots Up

Insights from the field of Peace and Conflict Studies can inform our ongoing pursuit of health-related justice in our congregations and communities. Join us to gain practical tools to pivot from injustice to the beloved community through lasting transformation.

Krista Westervelt is a senior Peace and Conflict Studies major and Gerontology minor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently completing her Senior Practicum in Peace and Conflict Studies here at PHW. Krista’s academic interests include investigating the role grassroots interfaith and ecumenical initiatives play in addressing cultural and structural violence, as well as researching and addressing racial, gender and economic disparities across the life course. Prior to beginning her practicum with PHW, Krista served the Chatham County Council on Aging as the organization’s Development and Communications Director. She is a member of The Community Church of Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist.
