Faith and Health Summit 2022

August 1, 2022 · by Nicole Johnson, Director, Partners in Health and Wholeness

MINDFUL TOGETHER

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God

The countdown has begun. Did you know that the Partners in Health and Wholeness Faith and Health Summit is back this year? We are counting down the weeks until September 15, 2022.

Join us at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro September 15 anytime throughout the day or all day from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be making updates and highlighting all the things we have planned, including workshops, exhibitors, the contents of the welcome bags, details about the pop-up farmers market and much more. As of today, we are 6.5 weeks from the Summit.

As you may have seen, our theme for this year’s summit is Mindful Together and that was a very intentional choice. There have been seismic changes for everyone, individually and communally, over the last two years. We wanted to acknowledge the need for the mindful moments that gently hold our minds, bodies and spirits. So, throughout that day, we are encouraging everyone to take moments to rest, breathe and center themselves in multiple designated locations across the campus of Holy Trinity. These locations include The Labyrinth, a Meditation Garden, benches located at different places across the campus where attendees can sit, rest, think and when needed reduce sensory input, a dedicated chapel for moments of quiet and contemplation, and a patio area outside the doors of the lower floor. All of these locations will be indicated on the maps in your welcome bags. Did I say welcome bags? Be on the lookout for the next update in one week on the very exciting contents of the welcome bags. Look forward to seeing YOU. Don’t forget to register!

About Nicole Johnson, Director, Partners in Health and Wholeness

Nicole has had the wonderful opportunity of living in different countries, having been born in Belize City, and currently calling North Carolina home. She is deeply convicted in her belief that faithful congregations can meet the environmental, social and ethical challenges of the 21st century in practical and tangible ways. Her travels and beliefs have motivated her to seek ways of merging faith, health, sustainability, justice and ethics. Nicole is a graduate of Salem College and of the dual degree MDiv/MA program in sustainability at Wake Forest University. Her PHW work is focused on building connections with congregations in the Triad/Metrolina area and developing denominational initiatives that support the health and wholeness ministries of faith communities. Her favorite things to do include traveling, hiking, growing things, trying new recipes, and spending time with family.
