February is designated as American Heart Month. During this time, everyone is encouraged to wear red to bring awareness to heart disease and stroke. First Baptist Church of East Winston-Salem took this challenge and ran with it! The bulletins included information about American Heart Month, encouraging folks to wear red in solidarity and even brought in two speakers to discuss heart-health with the congregation. They also participated in the Red Dress Tea at Novant Hospital.
This kind of work seems simple, but provides a lasting impact on the community. Starting the conversation about health issues can be the toughest hurdle, but once you realize that you are not alone and that you are surrounded by a community of support. God has provided us with a beautiful temple to care for so we can live out his words. Thank you to First Baptist Church of East Winston-Salem for living this out in your community!
