Healthy Churches 2020 National Conference PHW Workshop:
Innovative Strategies to Improve Nutrition and Food-Based Church Efforts

This step-by-step interactive workshop will help participants take a closer look at their nutrition and food-based efforts and learn innovative strategies to improve them. Participants will walk away with a comprehensive outline of examples and suggestions with small but effective improvements to take back to their church. Participants will also learn how PHW can help support and fund popular efforts like congregation and community meals, backpack programs, youth activities, and food pantries.

Partners in Health and Wholeness is an initiative of the North Carolina Council of Churches. PHW is a statewide faith-based health program that provides people of faith with the tools, support, and resources necessary to live healthier more fulfilling lives. PHW also aims to enhance the capacity and readiness of faith communities to address their congregant’s and community’s most pressing health issues, specifically regarding nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco cessation. For more information about our program, please visit us on the PHW website.

About Joy Williams, Former PHW Regional Coordinator

I am passionate about health and faith. Children, families, and elders have my deepest love and concern, and I've cultivated a heart for dance, plants, cooking, water, chilling with great friends, and talking about the matters of the heart. I love the Lord and seek to bring myself and others closer to The King Most High.
