Open Enrollment Ends March 31

March 21, 2014 · by Lauren Chesson, Former MSW Intern

As the end of open enrollment on March 31 approaches, little time remains to take advantage of advanced premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies on Healthcare.gov. You have 10 days left to purchase health insurance that is both more affordable and comprehensive while also avoiding the penalty for not having health insurance. Remember, ACA-compliant health plans cannot turn you away for a pre-existing condition, and they must cover 10 essential health benefits, including doctor’s visits and outpatient care, emergency services, maternity care, mental health care, habilitative services, preventive care, prescription drugs, and pediatric services.

Enroll America and Wake County partners want to give the Triangle as many opportunities for enrollment assistance as possible over this last 10 days. They are holding an Enroll-a-thon from March 25 – March 30. The event dates and locations are listed below. Please call 1-855-733-3711 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.

Tuesday, March 25, White Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 10am-3pm
1621 White Oak Church Road, Apex, NC 27523

Wednesday, March 26, Zebulon Methodist Church, 10am-3pm
121 Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27527

Thursday, March 27, Alliance Medical Ministry, 10am -3pm
101 Donald Ross Dr., Raleigh, NC 27610

Friday, March 28, Urban Ministries of Wake County, 10am -3pm
1390 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27603

Saturday, March 29, St. Augustine’s University, 9am-3pm
1315 Oakwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610

Sunday, March 30, Rock Quarry Rd Family Medicine, 12pm-4pm
1001 Rock Quarry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610

If you don’t live close enough to Wake County to get to one of these events, you can still call 1-855-733-3711 to make an appointment with an enrollment assister near you.

Take this last opportunity to get covered.

The next open enrollment period won’t roll around until November 15, 2014.
