Allowing Access to Church Facilities to Promote Physical Activity: Free Webinar

March 15, 2014 · by Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness

Partners in Health and Wholeness recently teamed up with the NC Division of Public Health, Faithful Families and Voices into Action to assess what is currently happening around shared use agreements in faith communities across the state and to identify opportunities for growth.

Please join us on Friday, March 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. to learn how your congregation can provide increased opportunities for physical activity in your local community by allowing outside groups and/or individuals to use your facilities. The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • The importance of congregations’ shared use efforts
  • The development, implementation and results of the Faith-based Organization Facility Use Assessment conducted by PHW and community partners
  • The development of shared use resources for congregations

Danielle Hewson, CDC Active Living Fellow at the NC Division of Public Health and Ellie Gladstone, Staff Attorney at ChangeLab Solutions will be our guest speakers. To participate, please follow the instructions below. Space is limited to the first 100 participants.

About Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness

Partners in Health and Wholeness (PHW) connects congregations with existing resources in the community and provides them with the tools necessary (sometimes in the form of mini-grants) to implement healthier practices, policies and programs. I live in Raleigh and enjoy good food, area greenways and bargain shopping.
