Helping Support Healthy Pregnancies — Dinner and Discussion, June 28

June 27, 2013 · by Joy Williams, Former PHW Regional Coordinator

It feels as though I have been pregnant at least eight times. I have two children, ages four and two, whom I care for deeply, and at least nine more that I support in some way or other. In truth, none of those pregnancies was my own, but I believe that when my neighbor is pregnant, I want to equally care for her as though it were my own.  I have gone through heartache, offering comfort where I could to a mother or family who suffered through miscarriages. I have also gone through the joys of pregnancy, from birth, through breastfeeding, to watching young minds grow older. That is why I say I have children, although, I have not birthed nor adopted any. I believe that I have a responsibility to help care for every child.

If you also would like to know more about this mindset, join us this Friday, June 28 around a dinner table in Fayetteville. We will talk, enjoy each other, and learn how we have previously helped pregnancies, and what more we can do together.

Please be our guest for a delicious natural and trans-fat free dinner which will be available as you arrive between 5:00-5:30 p.m. The training portion will start shortly after.

Where: Jason’s Deli

419 Cross Creek Mall, Fayetteville, NC

910-860-0253

What: An orientation and training on how we can help support pregnant women and their families.

Why: Because Mary helped Elizabeth in the Bible. Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself. And because, without proper caring and rearing of our children, how are we fulfilling the instructions God has given us?

–Joy Williams, PHW Regional Consultant

About Joy Williams, Former PHW Regional Coordinator

I am passionate about health and faith. Children, families, and elders have my deepest love and concern, and I've cultivated a heart for dance, plants, cooking, water, chilling with great friends, and talking about the matters of the heart. I love the Lord and seek to bring myself and others closer to The King Most High.
