For the month of May, Partners in Health and Wholeness is working with three interns from Bennett College for Women. They are helping with networking and outreach in the Greensboro area, particularly with Latino churches and communities.
The interns are: Estacia Crittle, who is majoring in psychology and is originally from San Francisco, California. She wants to work with children as a psychiatrist. Finesse Gordon is a biology major from Maryland. She is enjoying interning with PHW and is planning on becoming a nurse. Sandra Toledo, originally from Modesto, CA, is also a biology major, and wants to go to grad school for anesthesiology.
Their internship focus is on social justice, so they are investigating food deserts in Guilford County, connecting with community gardens, and helping to raise awareness among pastors and congregations about health and wholeness. They are helping to plan a pastor’s breakfast that will take place on May 30 at Guilford College United Methodist Church from 9-11am. If you are interested in attending please reply to Shannon Axtell Martin at shannon@ncchurches.org or 336-912-0976.
